Bromfield House – 5 in 1 Games Table Donation
The residents of Bromfield House placed a request with the Saffron Walden Round Table for a new games table. Bromfield house is is a 17 bed unit for Vulnerable Adults who have previously been homeless, and have support needs around mental health, drug and alcohol issues. Prior to the donation they had a broken table tennis table which (despite being broken and wonky) they used all the time. Due to funding cuts they where unble to replace it.
The residents use the table consistently and besides having a television and some board games have nothing else for activity to help them when they are trying rebuild their lives.
The 17 residents can stay for a period of up to 2 years, whilst they are supported to return to independent living .
Following delivery of the new 5 in 1 games table they sent us an email to say:
‘The new pool table is up and running and has been put together by a Handyman … it is extremely sturdy, and I am really pleased to say that since it arrived yesterday has been used as a Pool table, Air Hockey and is currently table tennis. It is excellent and meets the needs of the residents .
Thank you so much to the Saffron Walden Round Table and to everyone in the local community who has attended your events, or made a donation. We are all looking forward to the 8DayWeekend Carnival.’
